The mission of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. The Director, Individual Giving, is to provide strategic and tactical support in building the foundation of our Individual Giving Program during a critical fundraising period. This position is responsible for executing an individual strategy, with a focus on cultivating and soliciting mid-level (10,000 and below) individual donors. This role bridges the gap between day-to-day fundraising and major gifts, ensuring a strong donor pipeline for long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities :
Individual Giving Strategy & Execution
- Implement an annual individual giving plan in collaboration with the CEO and the Senior Director, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals.
- Lead and manage the Annual Fund, including face-to-face, direct mail, peer-to-peer fundraising, recurring gifts, and donor campaigns with the support of marketing consultants.
- Create a solicitation calendar and recommend solicitation strategies to guide future annual fundraising cycles.
- Support the CEO and Senior Director in mid-level donor cultivation, ensuring prospects move toward major gifts.
- Manage donor and prospect portfolio in collaboration with CEO, Senior Director, and other staff, , ensuring meaningful engagement and retention.
- Develop a prospecting framework (including criteria, reports, and tools) to support long-term donor pipeline growth.
- Track donor moves management, ensuring accurate documentation of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.
- Partner with the marketing consultant to enhance donor communications and fundraising visibility.
- Assist in planning and executing fundraising events (e.g., annual fundraisers, special donor events, and campaign launches).
Donor Engagement & Stewardship
Develop and implement a stewardship plan, calendar, and tools for individual donors.Oversee donor recognition initiatives and impact reporting.Annual Fund Support
In collaboration with the marketing consultant, draft and schedule individual giving appeals.Coordinate direct mail production tasks (data pulls, proofing, mailing) to support Community Engagement Specialist in mailing execution with volunteers.Assist with peer-to-peer campaigns by equipping board, staff, and ambassadors with donor-friendly materials in partnership with Advancement and Marketing staff.Develop replicable appeal templates and campaign toolkits that can be used in future fundraising years.Database & Reporting
Maintain up-to-date donor contact information.Collaborate with Office Manager to ensure thank-you letters are accurate and timely.Recommend data tracking practices, reporting templates, and performance metrics to strengthen long-term individual giving program evaluation.Requirements :
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Relationship Builder – Strong interpersonal skills to engage donors, corporate partners, and board members.Data-Driven Decision Maker – Experience leveraging donor data for fundraising insights and growth.Project Management – Ability to juggle multiple priorities, from events to campaigns to donor relations.Fundraising Experience – Proven experience in donor cultivation, annual campaigns, and grant strategy.Education & Experience
3-5+ years?in fundraising, development, or nonprofit advancement roles.?Experience managing?corporate individual donor portfolios.Familiarity with?CRM donor databases?(e.g.,?Bloomerang, MailChimp, etc.).?Event planning experience is a plus.?
