This position involves providing technical, scientific, and organizational assistance to laboratory research activities focused on regenerative medicine and gene therapy in translational models. The role supports studies on stem cell and gene therapy and requires collaboration with the supervisor and laboratory personnel to ensure procedures are performed timely and in accordance with laboratory protocols, GLP standards, and applicable UC guidelines. Responsibilities include sample and data collection, storage, inventory management, and maintaining good working relationships within the lab.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences or related discipline (e.g., Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Genetics) with demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow protocols.
- Experience conducting research in microbiology, molecular biology, cellular biology, or related fields with animal models; ability to write and follow written protocols and perform calculations with attention to detail.
- Experience with applied laboratory techniques including cell culture and preparation of blood / tissue samples; experience with tissue collection and analysis.
- Experience and proficiency with computer applications for transcription, data entry, and results analysis.
- Ability to process blood and related specimens, section fixed and frozen specimens, and perform staining including immunohistochemistry.
- Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment including microscopes and various assays.
- Knowledge of microbiology, sterile technique, and containment for BSL-2 and BSL-3 agents.
