Overview Sr. Design Technologist at CannonDesign. The Senior Design Technologist is responsible for integrating technology into the design process, implementing advanced design workflows, and driving digital transformation initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of both the design process and the technical skills necessary to bring designs to life. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in digital design.
Responsibilities Support Design Technologists overseeing the successful implementation and delivery of design technology solutions on major projects or programs.
Partner with Project Design Technologist to manage the digital health of the project and help ensure digital delivery commitments are met.
Lead specific major initiatives identified by the Design Technology group, including planning and ensuring successful completion.
Partner with consultants and clients to ensure models digital health is maintained and digital collaboration is supported as needed.
Own relationships with key vendors and champion CannonDesign’s needs and priorities in these vendor relationships.
Lead project teams with BIM project execution planning at kickoff and milestones, if necessary.
Author and implement standard workflows and processes.
Educate and support primary design applications.
Champion technology to leverage data collection and query for design intelligence, optimization, automation, simulation and downstream exploration for artificial intelligence.
Qualifications Minimum of 7 years of related experience, with at least 5 years in design technology, software development, or a related role.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design Technology, or related field.
Strong background in AEC, design technology, and software development.
Solid understanding of project phases from design through construction / closeout.
Knowledgeable in design software and comfortable with testing and adopting new technologies.
Deep understanding of design processes, delivery requirements and ability to apply technology strategically to create efficiencies while maintaining high quality.
Good verbal and written communication, strong organizational skills, experience training others in design, delivery, and use of BIM.
Strong leadership and ability to drive consensus with various stakeholders; strong client and practice engagement capabilities.
Technical knowledge of model authoring tools (e.g., Revit), analysis tools (e.g., Insight 360, Dynamo), review tools (e.g., Navisworks, Bluebeam, Revizto, Enscape) and other Design Applications. Revit API knowledge is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits The salary range listed is $110,600 to $138,200 annually and reflects the anticipated base compensation at posting. Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience and skill level. Eligible for discretionary bonuses.
