Assistant Village Engineer

Overview

The Assistant Village Engineer is a full-time, exempt, and professional position which plays a vital role in supporting the planning, design, and implementation of civil engineering projects within the Village of Pleasant Prairie and reports directly to the Village Engineer. The Engineering Department is responsible for public infrastructure planning, design, review, construction; and engineering services in support of Village operations. This position requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual who will assist in ensuring that all infrastructure developments adhere to regulatory standards and community needs.

Responsibilities

• Provides oversight and / or assistance for project planning, budgeting, scoping, design, specification, and bidding of municipal engineering projects, including but not limited to roadways, storm water systems, sanitary sewer systems, and water system infrastructure.
• Provides technical guidance and support for the Public Works.
• Works closely with the Community Development Department for the overall review and evaluation of private development engineering design submittals in accordance with good engineering practices and compliance with Village ordinances and requirements.
• Supports in the establishment and maintenance of uniform standards for design and construction of public improvements within the Village.
• Assists and / or is responsible for the preparation of special assessment schedules, maps, and engineering reports for public improvement projects.
• Collaborates with various Village departments, contractors, and consultants to coordinate project activities and resolve any issues that arise.
