Electrical Technician I
The Electrical Technician I is responsible for installations, alterations, additions, and / or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the commercial and industrial electrical industry. The incumbent of this position is responsible for assigned field installations, alterations, additions, and / or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment. Incumbent performs this work within an established time frame and ensures that this work is done in conformance with quality work standards, project man-hours, and in the established company guidelines and within regulatory compliance.
Specific responsibilities include :
This position is Full-Time, Non-Exempt, and reports to the Service Manager.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
4 or more years of experience and meets requirements.
Experience in terminations. (I.e. both aluminum and copper, twisted pair cable, terminating coaxial cable).
Clearly understand and comply with company / job safety requirements. (OSHA).
Must have ability & knowledge to properly give "hand signals" to operators.
Knowledge of series circuits, Ohms's Law, DC Circuits and resistance and its effect.
Ability to add, subtract, divide and use electrical formulas accurately.
Knowledge of blueprints / shop drawings, including symbol use.
Knowledge of use of degrees in bending conduit (i.e. concentric bending.).
Knowledge of switching procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of OSHA requirements.
Employee must understand and follow the NEC.
Must have knowledge of : Properly implement grounding practices, Transformer Protection / Connections, Insulating Oils & Overcurrent Protection, Parallel circuits, Fuse Operate Circuit Breakers, Motors, Inductance and Capacitance Power factors.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
