We Need Your Drive and Precision

Are you a detail-oriented, client-focused attorney with experience working on legal projects covering lands in Texas? Our ideal candidate has subject matter expertise in oil and gas law. Prior hires have included landmen, in-house legal and compliance attorneys, oil and gas finance executives, or counsel at a state regulatory agency. You will collaborate with senior attorneys to provide timely and accurate solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Oil & Gas Title Expertise : Conduct title examinations to determine ownership related to oil and gas properties.
• Identify and analyze deeds, leases, contracts, and other documents to establish ownership rights.
• Draft title opinions highlighting defects, liens, or issues impacting ownership or use of property.
• Conduct due diligence reviews for oil and gas transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Provide guidance on legal risks, liabilities, and strategies for mitigating legal issues in oil and gas transactions.
• Contract Negotiation and Drafting : Draft, review, and negotiate leases, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and related contracts to protect client interests and ensure compliance with laws.
• Regulatory Compliance : Stay updated on relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Litigation and Dispute Resolution : Collaborate with litigation attorneys when legal action is necessary.
• Team Collaboration : Work with team members to ensure seamless execution of complex legal transactions.
• Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours.
• Actively pursue continuous learning opportunities.
• Support other activities and projects as assigned by business priorities.
