Summary :
- Responsible to lead, manage & coordinate multiyear project(s) relating to critical systems and complex system integrations, as well as other high-risk projects that span across multiple business units.
- Manage resources, schedules, risks, issues, scope, financials and adhere to quality & SDLC control guidelines throughout the project life cycle.
- Verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives as relates to improving project delivery thru participating on Project Management Quality Excellence (PMQE) team.
Principal Accountabilities
Manage multiple complex and large projects simultaneously.Drive project delivery from inception thru production release including scope definition, requirements, development, testing and release phases.Manage the stakeholder expectations to ensure ownership and success.Conduct appropriate project planning activities with business and other stakeholders to identify project scope, desired business outcomes, critical success factors, resource requirements, implementation methodologies and plans.Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues and dependencies.Ensure the overall success by being accountable for all aspects of the project and providing overall project transparency.Monitor and controls project scope and ensure proper change control procedures are followed.Responsible for making and driving significant decisions that impacts the overall delivery of the initiative.Maintain up-to-date project documentation and comply with EmblemHealth Enterprise Project Management standards and policies.Provide high level executive reports and detailed updates to all stakeholders on a continuous basis.Guide and direct project team members to ensure compliance with set standards, procedures, and guidelines.Collaborate with vendors and suppliers clearly and timely as needed.Prepare and maintain effort estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project.Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards.Partner with Executive leadership to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful delivery of the project's scope and objectives.Provide strategic leadership for delivery of large-scale change initiatives.Provide leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.Identify, track and manage project cost.Ensure availability of financial, material and human resources required to successfully complete a project.Work to identify improvement opportunities and continuous enhancement of internal procedures, standards & templates for efficiencies.Perform other EPMO responsibilities as assigned or required.Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree required; Masters preferredPMP or advanced project / program management certification required10+ years' professional business experience, preferably in the Health Insurance industry required8+ years' experience managing large & highly complex projects, including 5+ years' experience in healthcare requiredAbility to manage large-scale IT and non-IT related projects that involve significant risk requiredAbility to manage multiple large-scale projects and cross-functional teams simultaneously requiredAbility to develop and manage multi-million-dollar budget(s) requiredExpert knowledge of project management practices requiredWorking knowledge of IT operations and Infrastructure, systems engineering principles, Mainframe and Distributed systems, systems integration, Web services / eBusiness, and Application Development requiredExperience with Waterfall SDLC methodology, preferably Agile / Scrum requiredProven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective requiredDemonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions, and identifying priorities requiredExcellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills requiredWell-versed at using modern work management and collaboration tools, preferably Microfocus PPM requiredHighly proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office tools, specifically MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio requiredFlexible in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities requiredExperience leading the work of outsource partners (multi-supplier environment) preferredAdditional Information
