Senior Tax Accountant

Leesburg, VA | Frederick, MD | In office a must, Hybrid Option Available

Are you a skilled tax professional with experience in tax preparation, client management, and staff supervision? DeLeon & Stang is looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team and play a key role in managing client engagements, reviewing tax returns, and mentoring staff alongside our Tax Manager.

What Youll Do :

• Prepare and review individual (1040) and business tax returns (S Corp, C Corp, Partnership, Sole Proprietorship).
• Manage client engagements, ensuring high-quality service and operational efficiency.
• Assist the Tax Manager in supervising staff, reviewing work, and providing training and mentorship.
• Support tax planning and consulting for individuals and businesses.
• Take ownership of client relationships, proactively communicating and addressing tax matters.
• Assist with billing, invoicing, and collections for assigned clients.
• Stay up to date on tax regulations and industry trends, attending professional development sessions.

What You Bring :

3+ years of experience at a regional CPA firm, with a strong focus on tax preparation and review.

Experience managing multiple client engagements and deadlines.

Strong technical tax knowledge and ability to provide consulting support.

At least 1+ year of experience supervising or mentoring staff.

CPA or EA certification preferred (or actively pursuing).

Excellent communication, organization, and client service skills.
