Senior User Interface Designer – Chenega MIOS SBU
Falls Church, VA
Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) is seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior User Interface Designer to lead the design and implementation of modern, user-friendly, and standardized interfaces across our suite of mobile applications and websites. This multifaceted role includes establishing and maintaining a cohesive design system that enhances usability, accessibility, and visual consistency across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design intuitive, responsive, and visually appealing user interfaces for mobile and web applications.
- Collaboratively grow, mature, and maintain the centralized UI design system and component library to ensure consistency across all products.
- Collaborate with UX designers, developers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate user needs and business requirements into elegant design solutions.
- Define and enforce UI standards, best practices, and accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG AA, Section 508).
- Conduct design reviews and provide guidance to ensure adherence to established UI principles.
- Stay current with design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve the user-facing designs.
- Create mockups and high-fidelity visual designs using tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Advocate for user-centered design and contribute to a culture of design excellence.
- Become an active member of the organization’s UI / UX Community of Practice.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred in graphic design, Human-Computer Interaction, or Web Design.5+ years of experience in UI design for mobile and web applications.Strong portfolio showcasing modern, responsive, and accessible UI designs.Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and related Adobe Creative Suite applications.Experience designing Mobile and Progressive Web Applications.Background check with the ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance.Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Ability to iterate designs quickly and effectively.Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and front-end development principles.Experience creating and managing design systems and style guides.Excellent writing, communication, and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently and within a team; manage multiple efforts in a fast-paced contracting environment.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups.Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and comfortable training end users on technical issues.How you’ll grow
