job_description.job_card.job_description501(c)(3) nonprofit arm that increases accessibility through individual scholarships and free community group programs Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) specialization Emphasis on parent education through customized home programs for generalization Unlimited growth opportunities within the company; move into management, supervisory, or specialized roles (with associated raises) A truly collaborative environment where every team member is valued and empowered to make a difference Competitive hourly wages for all work, including non-contact hours Additional paid bonuses throughout the year Relocation assistance up to $1,000 $200 / month toward company-sponsored BCBS group health insurance Professional liability insurance coverage 2+ weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) 11 paid holidays, including a full week off at Christmas Flexible sick leave as needed $250 / year stipend for continuing education NMT training reimbursement, if not already completed Paid clinical supervision (both individual and group) All instruments and supplies provided Opportunities for program and curriculum development A growth-oriented culture that encourages creativity and leadership Clear paths to advancement and specialization Plan and conduct weekly Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) sessions Lead adapted music lessons in piano, guitar, and voice Write detailed session notes and maintain accurate clinical data Develop and provide home resources to support carryover and generalization Communicate client progress clearly to families, staff, and treatment teams Collaborate with partner agencies, other providers, and internal staff Attend and contribute to team meetings, supervision, and trainings Travel to off-site community-based sessions as needed Represent Musical Bridges at biannual recitals, resource fairs, in-services, and other outreach events Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain credentials and enhance skills Support marketing and outreach efforts as part of our nonprofit mission Clean and sanitize instruments and equipment regularly following protocols Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) preferred — or willing to complete training within 3 months Minimum 1+ year of clinical experience (preferred) Experience working with children with special needs, including autism Background in adapted / basic music instruction (piano, guitar, voice) Comfort using Google Docs & Sheets Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Detail-oriented with strong time management Skilled writer with ability to document thoroughly and clearly Creative in developing visual supports and therapeutic materials Brings enthusiasm, energy, and passion to every session Independent, yet highly collaborative Professional, caring, and warm demeanor Excited to grow, contribute, and innovate within a dynamic team Health insurance Health savings account Paid time off Relocation assistance Vision insurance
Musical Bridges, established in 2005, is the leading music therapy provider in Middle Tennessee. We’re expanding our clinical team to develop innovative community programs and partnerships with local nonprofits while maintaining our dedication to quality music therapy services.
Position Overview
We’re seeking a passionate Neurologic Music Therapist to expand our presence in the community through engaging group programs and strategic partnerships. This unique role blends clinical work with community-based program development, serving both children and adults in a variety of settings, including our clinic and partner locations such as schools, adult day programs, kids’ gyms, and more.
Ideal Candidates
- Experience working with autistic children and adults
- Experience with ADHD, sensory processing needs, mental health needs, diverse behavioral needs
- Experience with developmental disabilities (ages 2 and up)
