Experience : Minimum of 2 years required, travel experience preferred

License : DC license in hand required

Certifications : BLS, NIH, ACLS

Must-Have :

• Conscious Sedation skills
• ICP monitoring

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Neuro ICU.

The nurse will work primarily day shifts with some night shifts possible.

Experience in handling special equipment such as EVD, Raumedic Bolt, Artic Sun, CVVH, Lytic catheter, and PA-catheter is required.

The nurse will assist with various procedures, including care of ventilated patients, arterial line management, and administration of blood products.

The nurse must be adept in neuro intensive care and trauma management.

The daily patient ratio will be 2 : 1.

Floating to other ICUs of equivalent or lower acuity may be required.

All employees must have received the Flu vaccine.

The nurse will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, supporting various patient diagnoses, including ischemic stroke and head trauma.

Special procedures and comprehensive stroke care will be a focus within this unit.
