Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair various types of boiler systems
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure efficient operation
- Troubleshoot and diagnose boiler malfunctions
- Perform preventative maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, calibrating)
- Monitor and control gauges, meters, and instrumentation
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Adjust controls to optimize boiler performance
- Document maintenance and repair activities accurately
- Provide emergency repair services as needed
- Collaborate with technicians and engineers to resolve complex issues
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools
- Train junior technicians and support team development
- Assist in energy audits and recommend efficiency improvements
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years' experience in boiler maintenance and repairCertification in boiler maintenance and repair (state / local certification or accredited training)Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systemsExcellent troubleshooting skillsAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprintsStrong attention to detail and commitment to safety standardsProficient in using diagnostic and repair toolsGood communication skillsWillingness to work flexible hours (including emergency calls and overtime)Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Experience with a wide variety of boiler systems (high-pressure, low-pressure, steam, hydronic, etc.)Prior experience conducting energy audits or efficiency upgradesFamiliarity with building automation systems and controlsPrevious experience training junior techniciansStrong track record working in high-pressure environments (critical facilities, hospitals, industrial plants)Experience managing inventory and coordinating vendor relationshipsStrong customer service orientation β ability to interface with clients professionallyBenefits
