Job Description - Expanding Markets Director (2500005F)
Responsibilities
The Director of Expanding Markets is responsible for developing new business in our innovative portfolio strategy in the AI / Data Center space. This role will research, develop and implement a robust business plan for a specific geographic region while facilitating cross-functional support to execute it. This role will also be responsible for customer networking and political relationship building to position the Company to win work and create the optics of a pioneer in meeting power generation needs of Data Center development.
- Identifies, develops, and positions technology around power generation in the Data Center US market
- Enhances B&W’s brand recognition as a engineering and technology industry leader in the energy markets
- Creates and presents business cases to help secure funding to support Expanding Markets products
- Cultivates and sustains a network of customers to drive RFP opportunities based on geographic region
- Develops a future “Data Center EBITDA” framework to track earnings from B&W’s diverse technology projects, as well as future licensing, royalties, and on-going service sales
- Assists in acceleration and deployment of present and emerging technologies
- Achieves bookings goals while working closely with global Sales and Business Development teams
- These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree18+ years of relevant experienceInvolved in the Data Center development market, especially with exposure to project development cycles, EPC suppliers and component manufacturersAssociations or political lobby groupsInvolved with products or services in the Data Center space extraction from feedstockStrong background in marketing and business developmentDemonstrated knowledge of strategic sellingFull cycle of selling processMarketing campaigns for new product launchRelationship buildingUnderstands how to reach key decision-making contactsMembership in key market associationsWorking with / exposure to political engagementParticipation or working knowledge of local political systemsRelationships with local / federal politiciansKnowledge and experience / exposure to product line managementExposure to R&D programsCreating integrated product programs that launches a new product / emerging technology into targeted marketsPrograms that enhance branding recognition with our product or servicesDevelop market target pricing guidanceWork closely with engineering to ensure features and benefits for target market are included in design / development phase of productsExperience in the power generation and / or industrial market sectors in local region is beneficialEngagement in a startup company (whether successful or not)Familiar with developing B2B synergiesAbility to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, and P&ID’sDisplays a technical aptitude coupled with business / finance savvinessKnowledge on Data Centers legislation in local regionKnowledge of where to find regional / national / geographic political legislation affecting Data CenterdirectionAbility to develop and apply for funding / grants for product developmentIndependent, self-driven, and entrepreneurial in natureCapable of working to defined objectives and engaging with management when required#J-18808-Ljbffr
