Training Coordinator – Steel Mill Manufacturing

📍 Location : Peoria, IL 💰 Grade Level : 21 | Competitive Pay 📅 Schedule : Primarily 1st Shift | Flexibility required (nights / weekends to connect with all shifts)

What You'll Do :

✅ Ensure compliance with training standards, documentation, and SOP-based instruction.

✅ Maintain and verify training records, including verification sheets, progress reports, and coaching documentation.

✅ Track and monitor 20-40 new hires during their probationary period, focusing on progress, engagement, and retention.

✅ Conduct at-risk behavior assessments and provide coaching on safety and performance.

✅ Act as the primary contact for new hires, addressing questions, concerns, and engagement issues.

✅ Provide feedback to HR and leadership on workforce trends and training outcomes.

✅ Conduct annual and compliance training across the department.

✅ Obtain and maintain "train-the-trainer" certifications as needed.

✅ Analyze and present training data, compliance trends, and progress reports.

✅ Identify training gaps and recommend program improvements.

What We're Looking For :

🔹 Experience : Minimum of 5 years in a heavy industrial environment. Unionized environment experience required.

🔹 Education : High school diploma or GED required. Technical training / certifications preferred.

🔹 Skills : Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel / reporting). Ability to interpret SOPs, safety rules, blueprints, and procedure manuals.

🔹 Mindset : Assertive, goal-oriented, and proactive. Able to balance multiple priorities and build trust with both leadership and union personnel.
