Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant- Internal Medicine - SAGE Campbell Compensation :

About the role :

  • As a Veterinary Technician in the Internal Medicine department, you be responsible for the following duties : Assist with a variety of diagnostic procedures including blood work, imaging, and endoscopy.
  • Provide compassionate care and monitoring for animals admitted to the internal medicine service.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and wound care treatments under veterinarian supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners, offering guidance on their animal's condition and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure equipment is properly maintained and sterilized.
  • Assist veterinarians during procedures such as biopsies and aspiration cytology.
  • Stay updated on advancements in internal medicine through continuing education.
  • Collaborate closely with other veterinary professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Advocate for the well-being of patients, ensuring they receive appropriate care and treatment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Compensation range :

  • primarily determined by role and experience level VA : $26 - $30 / hr  RVT : $26 - $40 / hr Hiring bonus : Up to $5000 for experienced applicants!

    • Work schedule :

  • 4 / 10 work week Saturday availability ideal Weekend and holiday flexibility required Basic required qualifications : General understanding and experience with small animal restraint with a focus on cats and dogs High school diploma Calm, professional demeanor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable time management and problem-solving skills; working efficiently and effectively throughout the hospital.
  • Multi-task various duties and responsibilities in a timely and reliable manner, with appropriate follow-through and accuracy.
  • Understand and follow established hospital processes and procedures (i.e.
  • SOPs) Able to work well independently as well as with a team.
  • Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology.

    • Preferred qualifications :

  • Experience in Specialty Veterinary Medicine, with a focus on internal medicine.  Valid and current Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California.
