job_description.job_card.job_descriptionPosition is in a Labor & Delivery unit within an acute care hospital Unit includes 16 L&D beds, 13 antepartum beds, and 3 OR suites for C-sections Patient population includes high-risk pregnancies, multiple births, and patients with conditions such as preeclampsia and diabetes Expect to manage titratable medications such as Pitocin and insulin Unit follows AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios Shift is 12 hours, 7p-7a, with weekend shifts as required Required to float to other nearby hospital locations and the high-risk antepartum unit EMR is EpicCare Inpatient and EFM uses Centricity Perinatal-GE Travelers are the first assigned to float among staff No on-call responsibilities Duties include providing patient care in Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and circulating in the OR during C-sections Charge nurse present on each shift and does not take a patient assignment unless absolutely necessary Certified Surgical Techs (CSTs) support each shift OB Laborist, neonatology, and anesthesia are in-house 24 / 7 Nurses are not required to manage respiratory therapy equipment beyond initial neonatal resuscitation Scrubs are provided by the facility Orientation includes one shift in Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and the OR Unit accommodates 320-400 deliveries per month Holiday coverage may be required depending on unit needs Block scheduling and special scheduling requests are not accepted Active ID or Compact RN license required at time of consideration BSN required Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Experience circulating in OR and with LDR required Must be able to titrate Pitocin and insulin drips Experience with Epic EMR preferred Submission requires a copy of driver's license Must provide two professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer from the past 3 years Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates) Permanent employees must be separated for one year before applying as a traveler High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
