Weapons Facilities Operations Group Lead

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our Engineering Services (ES) Division as the Weapons Facilities Operations (ES-WFO) Group Lead (Nuclear Facilities Engineering Manager 4). As a vital member of the ES team you will develop, maintain, and apply a diverse set of nuclear facility engineering capabilities to provide innovative solutions to enable the Laboratory's scientific and national security mission, and will be responsible for the implementation of Conduct of Engineering (CoE) and Configuration Management (CM) programs, including technical baseline development for facilities. As the Group Lead you will serve as the group manager, directing a robust workforce and managing multifaceted activities within the WFO Facility Operations Directorate, including the Cognizant System Engineer (CSE) team at the Weapons Engineering Tritium Facility (WETF). Nuclear Facilities Engineering Manager 4 ($166,900 - $289,000) Leadership Central to this position, we are seeking a qualified and talented individual that has demonstrated leadership and management experience, engineering or technical organization oversight roles and team building success. Knowledge and Demonstrated Experience This position will serve in a management role and provide knowledge and experience in engineering and administration for facility projects and on-going operations and maintenance within nuclear facilities is required. Specific knowledge and demonstrated experience required for this position includes :
Education / Experience : Position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 8 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2 Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities.
Desired Qualifications
A professional license (PE) in an engineering discipline from a recognized licensing board preferred Extensive knowledge of LANL activities and nuclear operations including project execution and management, legal, procurement, construction, environmental safety & health (ES&H), and quality assurance Knowledge / experience of LANL Engineering Standards Manual; LANL CoE procedures; and DOE orders and standards related to nuclear facility design, construction, and project management
Work Location : The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position Commitment : Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.
