Operations Project Manager

As an Operations Project Manager, a typical day will include the following duties :
This position is responsible for planning, monitoring, and delivery of IT related customer focused projects within a large infrastructure environment. The candidate will work closely with various systems engineering, infrastructure, and technical operations teams, as well as the customer to assess requirements, coordinate resources, and deliver projects for our customer. The Project Manager must possess strong organizational, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills while having the ability to articulate highly technical and complex project requirements to both customers and internal teams. Converse, collaborate, and generate and validate requirements with our cross functional team of engineers, data scientists, analysts, and other senior level technical staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work / military experience
Minimum 8 years of related experience, including supervisory experience
Required Knowledge / Skills
- Understanding of IT infrastructure elements and technical exposure in key technologies e.g. Windows, Linux, NiFi, Storage, Oracle, Greenplum, Hadoop, HPCC, and Elastic Search.
- Experience validating requirements with cross functional teams of engineer, data scientists, analysts, and other senior level technical staff
- Ensure that IT services are delivered in accordance with agreed-upon service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Ensure that IT systems and applications are secure and compliant with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, applications, and processes, and ensure that knowledge is transferred to team members and discoverable by team members
- Manage relationships with vendors, including contract management, issue escalation, and past performance
- Participate in budgeting and cost management activities, ensuring that O&M costs are controlled and aligned with business objectives
- Effective management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Manage the daily activities of the O&M team, ensuring that IT systems and applications are running smoothly and efficientlyCoordinate the orchestration of routine maintenance tasks, such as backups, patching, and troubleshooting, to ensure high availability and performance of IT systems and applications. This includes leading the Weekly IPD Tag-Up and boardLead the incident management process, including identifying, analyzing, and resolving IT-related incidents, such as outages, errors, or security breachesIdentify and resolve underlying problems that may be causing recurring incidents, and implement preventive measures to minimize future occurrencesOversee the change management (RFC) process, ensuring that changes to IT systems and applications are properly assessed, approved, implemented, and verifiedProvides technical, administrative, and operational management of assigned project tasks including contract and subcontractor management.
