Job Title : IT Business Data Analyst

The EDP enterprise Data Analyst is a technical professional who will work as a liaison between EDP and client's business units to understand the BU's data goals, requirements, processes, and objectives in an EDP engagement. They use a business analysis approach to understand existing business processes and related data and, data analysis skills to showcase business value of an enterprise data portfolio and tell stories with data. An enterprise business analysist can help break down silos and support the development of overarching business strategies leveraging enterprise data. The Enterprise DA will be an overarching role in EDP who will be working with BAs and BI Analysist from all the development teams and help establish a Data-Analysis Community of Practice for EDP.
Key Expectations :
1. The EDP DA will learn the existing EDP data portfolio and evolve into an SME with deep understanding of EDP's enterprise data model, data products, data ownership and access control configurations.
2. Help internal and external technical and non-technical teams with information on EDP's data portfolio.
3. Gather and analyze data and business processes for new projects in EDP's project intake pipeline.
4. General understanding of EDP's data catalog and data discovery tool and help with their upkeep.
a. Keeping knowledge articles and data dictionaries current
i. Review and refine existing articles
ii. Create new content when needed
b. Identify trends in usage of these tools and recommend improvements.
5. Overall understanding of data quality of various datasets and data products available for consumption from EDP and provide recommendations to improve data quality when there is a gap.
6. Collaborate with various business units and / or development teams to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
7. Communicate, recommend, and implement business process improvements based on data analysis findings, when needed.
8. Ability to identify and interpret trends, patterns, and anomalies within datasets.
9. Will utilize basic understanding of performance optimization techniques to compose performant SQL queries.
10. Utilize data modeling tools such ERwin to understand the relationships between datasets in EDP and share knowledge with others.
11. Utilize data analysis tools such as Power BI, Amazon Quicksight, or similar for creating visualizations and dashboards.
12. Test business processes, help identify data issues, help with UAT, and document findings.
13. Build relationships with business product owners and practitioners, as well as executive leadership teams.
