The Shipping Clerk will maintain data within a Warehouse Management System including inventory, fulfillment, transportation, and order management. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for planning orders, arranging transportation, maintaining transportation contacts, and work instructions for customer-routed freight.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :
Prioritize and communicate intercompany transfer needsIdentify and communicate customer order shortagesSales order fulfillmentUse of transportation module to plan ordersPrint sales order pick listsSchedule and confirm transportation arrangementsCommunicate with carriers such as road, rail, air, and sea companiesEnsure customer ASN's are performedAdhere to the company's safety standardsResponsible for adhering to and maintaining the company's ISO standardsEducation :
High School Diploma or GEDExperience and / or Training :
Minimum of 2 years shipping experienceExperience using a computerized Warehouse Management SystemExperience with scanned pick and shipment preparationKnowledge of LTL shipment routing and classification of freightMust have good command of the English language and the ability to read and understand written instructionsAbility to perform basic mathematical calculations in order to accurately complete job tasksAbility to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirementsAbility to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirementsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished written or orally in EnglishStrong sense of urgency and attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively via phone or emailComputer proficiency utilizing ERP systems and software including Microsoft Outlook and ExcelPHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS : Employee must be able to deal with multiple assignments and work well under pressure. Steel-toed shoes are required for interaction in the warehouse. Must be able to work in a manufacturing warehouse environment exposed to hot / cold temperatures and dust.
