Position Overview :
We are seeking a Account Manager to drive revenue growth, expand customer relationships, and manage key accounts in the closeout and off-price retail space. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, strong negotiation skills, and experience in CPG, distribution, or wholesale trade. This role requires a strategic thinker who can identify new opportunities, manage complex deals, and build lasting partnerships with retailers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities :
In collaboration with leadership, develop and execute a strategic sales plan to expand market presence and revenue streams.Manage and grow existing customer accounts by identifying, selling and building strong relationships across all departments in your assigned national accounts.Actively seek new business opportunities at the national and regional levels.Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (C-Level) at retail partners.Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to maximize profitability.Stay ahead of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, logistics, and finance) to ensure seamless execution of deals.Meet and exceed sales individual and team targets through proactive pipeline management and customer engagement.Utilize CRM and ERP systems to track sales performance, customer interactions, and forecasts.Qualifications & Skills :
Ideally you have 5-10 years of experience in sales, account management, or business development, preferably in CPG, wholesale, or closeout distribution.Strong negotiation, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage complex sales cycles and close high-value deals.Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals.Proficiency in CRM and ERP systems for tracking sales performance.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (Big deal these days)Detail-oriented and research-driven individualOutstanding time management and organizational skills.
