LSF is looking for a talented Regional Development Manager who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.

This position will be based on the East Coast of the state of Florida. Ideal candidate will be Ft. Lauderdale based.

Purpose and Impact :

The Regional Development Manager is responsible for implementing the strategic fund-development plan that will provide for the ongoing viability and thriving of Lutheran Services Florida. This role is responsible for supporting localized Ambassador Boards, driving donor engagement, and supporting regional events. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, this role requires enthusiasm for working with a mission-driven team to make a real and lasting difference for the future of the clients we serve through this dynamic nonprofit.

This role is responsible for the stewardship and support of localized Ambassador Boards and remains in consistent contact with the Board Lead. The Regional Development Manager proactively connects with new and potential donors to guide them through their donor journey through data-driven, personalized, and frequent communication.

Essential Functions :

DONOR ENGAGEMENT

  • Donor Stewardship – Build and maintain strong relationships with current donors, ensuring regular communication, appreciation, and engagement to retain and increase their support through exceptional customer service.
  • New Donor Acquisition – Both individually and in collaboration with the Development Team - Identify and cultivate relationships with potential new donors, including individuals, businesses, community programs, and religious organizations, to expand the donor base and increase funding sources.
  • Current Donor Communication - Create consistent communication streams with donor base through newsletters and emails that showcase donors stories, program needs, and success stories.
  • Donor Segmentation - In coordination with Data Specialist, create segmented, and specified communication strategies to deepen donors’ relationship to LSF and increase giving.
  • Donor Surveys - Create and conduct donor surveys to better know each individual and their preferences for communication and donations.
  • Donor Profiles - Tell donors’ stories to elevate their generosity and inspire the generosity of others.
  • Donor Acknowledgement - Design and implement donor acknowledgement process to both appreciate each donor and encourage further connection.
  • Fundraising Campaigns - Create campaigns with specific asks to increase engagement and generate revenue.

AMBASSADOR BOARD COORDINATION

  • Communicate consistently with Ambassador Board Coordinators to collaborate on local initiatives, events, and partnerships.
  • Plan and lead Ambassador Board Meetings in local markets.
  • Connect Ambassadors to programs in their community.
  • Find and nurture new relationships to add to Ambassador Boards.
  • Ambassador Boards – Identify leaders who can advocate on behalf of LSF in local communities. Support their efforts, events, connections and communications with their communities. Provide them with engagement plans and meet with them at least 1x / month in person.
  • EVENT SUPPORT

  • In collaboration with the Ambassador Board, organize, and execute successful fundraising events, both large and small, to generate significant revenue and increase community engagement.
  • Utilize donor relationships to locate sponsors and partners to develop beneficial events that fund and support our local programs.
  • GENERAL

  • Team Collaboration – Collaborate effectively as a member of the Development, local and Central Services teams, contributing to effective. communication and solid teamwork, as well as manage and work in partnership with a direct report by providing clear direction, support, and mentorship.
  • Advocacy and Partnership – Promote and showcase regional programs / services through written communication (digital and print) as well as presentations to community, corporate, government, congregational, and civic groups in partnership with Communications Team and Regional Program Staff.
  • Data Monitoring, Tracking, and KPI Attainment – Manage all donor / data tracking through Customer Relationship Management software including data entry, activity tracking, trend monitoring. Data monitoring will also include staying up to date on Development Team Key Performance Indicators.
  • Ongoing Professional Development and Community Engagement- Demonstrate qualities of growth mindset with willingness to learn, grow, and develop their learning around fundraising, LSF, and the local region. The expectation is this individual strives to become an embedded part of the Development team, local leadership, and region’s business and development community to support LSF programs.
  • Uphold confidential information found in the donor database, while keeping accounts accurate and current meeting notes in the donor database.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Successfully completes tasks in varied environments including a moderately noisy environment at times.
  • Interacts with others and performs tasks in-person and through the use of technology, with potentially long periods of stationary activity and potentially long periods of increased physical activity including and not limited to driving, overseeing events, transporting materials related to outreach and events, and giving presentations to large groups.
  • Moves equipment / materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Travels between worksites, meetings, events, donor meetings, program outreach, and community engagements regularly; Requires valid driver’s license, auto insurance, motor vehicle records clearance, and access to dependable transportation.
  • Works in a variety of settings, including and not limited to LSF office locations, partner agency and community-based settings, community settings, outdoor settings in varying weather conditions, businesses, and faith-based settings such as churches. This role is hybrid with an expectation of regular days most weeks in the office as well as driving across the state for donor related responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment or remotely, as needed.
  • Frequent movement within the office to attend meetings, collaborate with team members, or handle materials.
  • Proficient in using a computer, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods while drafting communication materials, managing databases, or preparing reports.
  • Visual acuity to review and analyze digital and printed materials.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during events, presentations, or community engagements.
  • Comfortable handling physical setup or breakdown of event spaces, including arranging tables, displays, or materials.
  • Strong auditory and verbal abilities for phone calls, virtual meetings, public speaking, and in-person interactions.
  • Requires effective written communication skills for reports, proposals, and outreach materials.
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends during campaigns, outreach events, or other time-sensitive projects.
  • Education and Experience :

    Bachelor ’ s or equivalent degree in related field required.  3 years of related fund-development experience within a nonprofit or government relations setting with a proven track record of success. Experience managing teams / personnel preferred.

    Also required : Successful completion of a Level II background screening, local criminal record check and drug screening prior to hiring.

    Other : Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.

  • Fluency in data, especially related to monitoring regional trends in fundraising and campaign performance especially related to graphs and tables.
  • Intermediate mastery of business applications and productivity suites
  • Demonstrates resilience, awareness and self-regulation in navigating challenges, conflict and obstacles / barriers.
  • Thrives in and embraces a diverse and multicultural environment; works with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to enhance end-user experiences throughout the service lifecycle.
