- We are seeking an experienced Laser Operator III to join our team at Glenn Metalcraft Inc. Responsible for interpreting client specifications and entering them into the CNC machine, setting up and monitoring machine as it operates. This position will make critical contributions to the company’s reputation, ensuring the excellence of products by following inspection protocols and detecting errors before products are released.
Key Responsibilities
Must have advanced knowledge of various Laser machinery and equipment necessary to produce metal componentsPromote “safety first” mindset across production floor and ensure staff are following safety procedures / guidelinesMust follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout / Tag outUnderstand and accurately report daily production quantities to meet set number of parts per hourConsistent and accurate counts of materials and productsCreate and / or write new programs from a printPerforms necessary quality checks on product and completes daily communicationAbility to perform advanced adjustments and repairs to machinesAbility to set up workstation according to safety standards to perform maximum efficiencyMaintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to established proceduresAbility to recall and input programsPerform complete machine set ups without assistanceMaintain a positive attitude with customers, clients, co-workers, and managementMay run multiple Laser machines as neededKnowledge to select tooling for processAccurately check out tools through tool crib inventory systemAbility to qualify first part approval for inspectionAssists with performing preventative maintenance as neededAbility to read, write and save setup sheets for various machinesAbility to trouble shoot cutting process and make adjustmentsAbility to create new cutting conditions for new material typesQualifications
High School diploma or equivalent preferredMinimum 3 years’ cutting experience required; metals preferredExperience running, troubleshooting, and programming Laser machinesSkills and Competencies
Ability to safely perform work in varying work conditionsWorking knowledge of machinery with previous experience in manufacturing environment preferredAbility to understand and follow instructionsAbility to share knowledge among co-workers, peers, and managersEffective problem-solving skills / detailed oriented / sense of urgencyAbility to read blueprints and use measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, Faro Arm and CMMAbility to be forklift certifiedAbility to follow hoist safety protocolsSelf-motivated, takes initiativePhysical Requirements

The expected base pay range for this position is between $24 and $30 per hour. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
