Inventory Control Supervisor
The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for managing and organizing the company's inventory across Redistribution warehouse operations. This role ensures that materials and products are accurately tracked, stored, and distributed to support operational efficiency and service excellence. The Supervisor leads inventory audits, analyzes data, trains personnel, and enforces inventory control policies to minimize shrinkage and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control processes for all inventory movements and adjustments
- Schedule and oversee physical inventories; reconcile variances and generate reconciled inventory reports
- Coordinate daily cycle counts; investigate discrepancies and provide variance reports to relevant departments
- Conduct daily inventory analysis using warehouse reports to identify and resolve inventory issues
- Ensure proper warehouse slotting to support accurate order fulfillment and efficient shipping operations
- Validate that WMS and / or ERP systems reflect real-time inventory status
- Monitor inventory systems for unusual adjustments, shrinkage, and exceptions
- Enforce inventory control policies to minimize risk, including damages, claims, and transfers
- Collaborate with product managers, customer service, and warehouse teams to align inventory practices with company goals
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and inventory control procedures
- Supervise, train, and evaluate inventory control personnel; assign tasks and monitor performance
- Maintain meticulous records to ensure accuracy in inventory counts and documentation
- Perform physical tasks as needed in a warehouse environment, including lifting and extended standing
Qualifications and Requirements :
Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in inventory management within a distribution or warehouse environmentPrior supervisory or team leadership experience requiredStrong analytical, mathematical, and communication skillsProven ability to achieve results through persistence, resource allocation, and sound judgmentProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel); AS400 experience preferredWorking knowledge of food service disciplines including purchasing, customer service, accounting, warehousing, and transportationFamiliarity with Food Safety, regulatory requirements, FDA / USDA regulatory requirementsAbility to build and maintain professional relationships across departments and external partnersCapable of working in warehouse conditions and performing physical duties as requiredWork Environment and Physical Demands :
Warehouse-based role with exposure to varying temperatures and operational noiseRequires standing, walking, and lifting / moving items for extended periodsMust adhere to all company safety protocols and PPE requirementsEducation :
Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferredRelevant certifications in Inventory control, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or food safety compliance are a plus
