Contracts Administrator - Kiewit Nuclear Solutions - Aiken, SC
This position supports prime contract administration for Kiewit Nuclear Solutions, focusing on federal and commercial contracts within the nuclear sector. Location : primarily on-site with some time in the Aiken, SC office and Savannah River, SC projects.
Responsibilities
- The Prime Contracts Manager manages non-technical aspects of the projects to which they are assigned, provides guidance, collaborates with Project Managers on scope management, change management, schedule, risk, and other contract matters, and documents and agrees on changes or amendments during execution.
- Understand, interpret, and transmit contract information, processes, and procedures to key project participants to ensure adherence to the contract terms and scope of work of their discipline.
- Expertise in the Prime RFP process and procedures; respond to procurement requirements and proposals; negotiate change orders on large commercial and federal projects.
- Collaborate with other discipline leads to implement effective change management practices; engage during pursuit and delivery phases as requested.
- Support Construction Management and Program Management engagements by assisting with contractual management issues.
- Oversee non-technical contract aspects, ensure compliance with contract documents, monitor performance, schedules, and deliverables; collaborate with procurement on flow-downs to subcontractors and modifications.
- Develop processes for non-technical contract administration; train project team and implement processes.
- Review contract documents to minimize conflicts and ambiguities; lead contract awareness and change management with key staff.
- Assist the Project Manager with correspondence, project records, change administrations, settlement of changes, and support to legal for claims.
- Prepare change orders and logs; assist in contract close-out to ensure compliance before final payment; ensure warranties, bonds, insurances, and guarantees are in place per contract and client requirements.
- Monitor deliverable schedules and certifications; monitor budget and earned value; identify financial issues and recovery options; prepare monthly contractual reports.
- Collaborate with Project Manager on monthly Progress Reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, pre-law, or supply chain.Minimum 6 years related experience, preferably in Prime Contract management; subcontract management considered if relevant.Expert knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal contracting; knowledge of DEAR and other nuclear-related terms is highly desirable.Excellent customer communication and collaboration skills; ability to build relationships internally and externally.Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and districts to support proposals; familiarity with the construction industry.Ability to work independently, think analytically, and offer practical solutions while managing risk; ability to manage employees and multitask.Working knowledge of MS Office 365; knowledge of SharePoint, SmartSheet, and SAP is desirable.Other Requirements
