We are an upscale, dine-in ice cream shop featuring an inventive menu of artisanal ice cream creations, including traditional scoops, extreme milkshakes, boozy shakes, unforgettable sundaes, reinvented floats, and our custom frozen hot chocolate blend.

• Our Story : Max's Best Ice Cream is a family operated business. As lifelong residents of Maryland and the local community, we opened in Bethesda first to fulfill a lifelong father-son dream to serve “the best ice cream... in the whole entire world.”
• Our Ice Cream : Our premium, farm-fresh ice cream is sourced from Vanderwende's Farm Creamery in rural Delaware. Max's Best Ice Cream is the first shop to feature Vanderwende's ice cream in Bethesda and the broader Washington, D.C. region.
• Our People : Max's Best Ice Cream has partnered with Best Buddies International to employ individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the Best Buddies Jobs program.
• Our Community : Best Buddies is also a co-owner in Max's Best Ice Cream, so a portion of the proceeds from every customer’s purchase will help to further Best Buddies’ work in the community.

Title : General Manager

Location : Max's Best Ice Cream, 7770 Woodmont Ave, Bethesda MD, 20814

Reports To : Managing Partners, Pastry Chef

FLSA :

Position Summary : Front-end management directing and overseeing business activities at Max's Best Ice Cream with standardized policies in order to provide efficient, friendly services and profitable operations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The work that restaurant managers do is both physically and mentally demanding. They are on their feet much of the time. Managers must work well under pressure and exercise tact and patience when dealing with employees and customers. Managers typically work fifty-five to sixty hours a week. However, because the restaurant serves the public and are open six days a week, managers may work longer, irregular hours.

The description of the physical demands and the work environment characteristics here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform and those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. The employee may frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds or more. Specific sensory abilities required by this job include sight, taste, smell, and hearing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, hazardous materials, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
