Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection, to ensure compliance with customer blueprints and applicable specifications. Mentor inspectors and machinists on measurement techniques and methods.
Complete routine inspections using applicable drawing, criteria, gauging, control plans and sampling plans.
Maintain accurate inspection records, filing systems and appropriate documentation to conform with all quality regulations.
Communicate with Quality Manager regarding questionable measurements, visual discrepancies and / or non-conforming parts.
Complete DMRs, as required.
Approve first piece and in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Ensure inspection records are filled out correctly.
Good manufacturing practice and accurate paperwork / reporting in compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100.
Make suggestions regarding improved methods to inspect parts.
Minimum 10 years’ experience as a quality inspector in a precision manufacturing environment.
Practical experience with routine inspections using applicable drawing, criteria, gauging, control plans and sampling plans.
Proven experience as a quality inspector or relevant role.
A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
Responsible and trustworthy.
Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems.
Knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
Practical experience with manufacturing processes and procedures.
Understanding of GD&T, including geometric symbols associated with GD&T.
Ability to read blueprints and apply to job duties.
Understanding and ability to apply shop mathematics.
Understanding of basic ISO standards.
Demonstrated ability to utilize general inspection equipment as listed below :
Calipers
Micrometer
Thread gauges
Surface tester
Optical Measurement Equipment
CMM a plus
Must be able to read and write effectively.
Self-motivated and positive.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
1-2 years Quality Control inspection in a precision manufacturing environment.
Eye examinations are required annually, the candidate shall have visual acuity of 20 / 25 in one or both eyes capable of reading the Jaeger J1 chart or equivalent at 16 inches either corrected or uncorrected for reading equipment dial gauges, blueprints, precision measuring instruments and visual inspection of parts.
