job_description.job_card.job_descriptionProcesses bi-weekly payroll including the importation of Time and Attendance approved hours, the review and input of all types of pay period adjustments such as new hire wage adjustments, 401(k) contributions and loans, garnishments, and FMLA. Runs all payroll reports each pay period as well as any other required payroll reporting. Maintains the Everlance mileage system and processes bi-weekly mileage submissions for payment. In addition, processes paper mileage requests for payment. Assists all employees with payroll and mileage related questions or problems. Prepares and posts payroll journal entries including month end accruals into Great Plains accounting software. Prepares work for assigned areas or responsibility related to the month end close including but not limited to journal entries, spreadsheet analysis, and financial statement variance analysis. Prepares account reconciliations for health benefit billings and other areas of assigned responsibilities. Prepares and files government contract billing reports. Prepares year end audit worksheets and works with auditors to complete the annual financial audit, as well as other external financial reporting requirements. Handles material that is confidential in nature and makes decisions based on organizational policy. Performs other special assignments at supervisor's request Knowledge and Experience with payroll software. General knowledge of payroll taxes. Excellent Excel skills as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications. Knowledge of General Accounting Practice Principles (GAAP). Experience with nonprofit accounting practices. Ability to maintain confidentiality of client / participant (HIPAA), employee, and employer information. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to relate to diverse populations and cultures while communicating with other staff and the public in a courteous and effective manner. Must be able to work nights, holidays or weekends if needed. Must submit to Agency approved background checks. A minimum of one year of experience utilizing HRIS, including the HR, payroll and time & attendance modules is preferred. Knowledge of HRIS custom reporting features is preferred. Position Summary
The Payroll Accountant is responsible for all payroll related tasks as well as for the bi-weekly mileage reimbursement process. Responsibilities also include month end work such as preparing and postings journal entries, reconciling accounts, and budget variance analysis. Finally, the position prepares and files government contract billing reports.
Annual Salary Range : $44,500.00 - $54,000.00
