Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Hydrologic & Hydraulic Engineer to join a rapidly expanding engineering firm specializing in floodplain and water resource solutions. This is not a traditional engineering role - it's a chance to directly impact communities while advancing professionally and financially.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater, riverine, and floodplain systems
Conduct flood risk assessments, drainage studies, and mitigation planning
Design and evaluate stormwater systems, culverts, and detention basins
Lead FEMA LOMR / MT-2 regulatory submissions and documentation
Support permitting efforts for water resource and floodplain projects
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, agencies, and clients
Mentor junior engineers and manage multiple concurrent projects
Prepare technical reports and review modeling results
Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or related field
5+ years of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering experience
Proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ICPR, Civil 3D, GIS
FEMA LOMR / MT-2 project experience
Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively
Preferred :
Professional Engineer (PE) license
FEMA-specific project experience
Leadership or mentorship experience
