Assistant Vice President, Inland Marine, Property, and Aviation

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for an Assistant Vice President of Inland Marine, Property, and Aviation ("IPA") Business Unit that will be tasked with building a book of business on the west coast of the United States. This role will be a key member of the IPA leadership team and will play a vital role from both a strategic and an underwriting perspective in terms of how the IPA business looks to build upon its strong foundation and continued growth.

This role will be located in Bellevue, Washington. Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

Responsibilities :

• Build and lead a team Inland Marine Underwriters to manage and grow a profitable book of business.
• Hire and develop a team of underwriters. Establish annual goals, provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff and complete formal performance appraisals.
• Develop and implement strategies to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
• Continuously monitor the performance of the book and make recommendations to adjust execution and strategy as necessary to achieve business goals.
• Partner with support functions such as Product Developers, Actuarial, Claims, Regulatory, Risk Control, and IT to build and maintain profitable books of business.
• Engage with actuarial and others to develop and refine pricing and underwriting tools.
• Establish and monitor lines of authority.
• Represent the company to internal and external customers; build and foster beneficial contacts and networks.
• Assess needs and develop training to meet the needs of staff to further enhance and grow the product lines.
• Participate on cross-functional projects.

Compensation : Please note, that the annual gross salary range associated with this posting is $105,000 to $222,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location related to this specific role. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more.
