A mission-driven organization in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and support an efficient month-end and year-end close process. This role supervises Accounts Payable and Pledge Management functions and reports directly to the Controller.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings, maintaining and reconciling the general ledger.
Supervise invoice processing, payments, and 1099 reporting for compliance with IRS regulations.
Provide backup coverage for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal policies.
Conduct detailed account reviews, reconciliations, and analyses to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Oversee recording of revenue and expenses from donor management systems, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 standards.
Review and ensure accuracy of monthly and quarterly financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP.
Prepare audit schedules, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulations.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role
Proficiency with automated accounting systems; experience with MIP and Donor Management Systems preferred
Advanced Excel skills required
