Gardner-Webb University is seeking to fill the role of Office Coordinator for Student Success. This is a part time role of 20 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Manages suite front desk in administrative capacity by answering telephones, assisting with and resolving problems and inquiries of students and visitors, reviewing incoming and outgoing correspondence, and handling follow-up communication.
• Serves as a central point of liaison with other departments, students, and external constituencies in the resolution of a variety of day-to-day matters.
• Serves as a program utility person, offering support and assistance for multiple initiatives, events, grants, projects, and programs across multiple departments. Position assists the efforts of multiple staff within Division.
• Offers student-centered guidance and direction for visitors (students / faculty / staff) who have questions regarding the division, or campus in general.
• Supervises 5-6 student workers, including managing time sheets, schedules, and payroll. This also includes interviewing, hiring, assigning and directing work, coaching, ongoing evaluation of performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Must have a mindset of mentoring employees to lead in a way that promotes teamwork and encourages a positive work environment.
• Assists in purchasing, and monitoring purchases and expenses, for departments in collaboration with division Directors.
• Assists in the preparation of check requests and reimbursement of expenses.
• Performs data entry for Banner, Insight, and other related software programs.
• Prepares materials and works across departments to promote strategic marketing of support services.
• Ensures common areas / lobbies are clean and organized, and communicates with Facilities about needs that arise.
• Adheres to University policies and procedures to include the maintenance of confidentiality of all processed information, student data, etc.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Interns / Student Employees

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : High school diploma required. Completed Associate’s degree, some completed university coursework, or completed Bachelor’s preferred. Experience in customer service-oriented role, office environment, educational-focused experience preferred. Knowledge of best practices in customer service operations, as well as familiarity with university environments, is a plus.

OTHER PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS : Proficiency with information technology (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, campus-wide database), as well as an understanding of office culture / etiquette, customer service orientation, and data / finance-related processes. Understanding of learning environments and the challenges that college student often faces. Strong relational skills, including professional and customer-friendly skills; the ability to function in a team environment; a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
