As Associate Director of Content at Zip, you’ll lead our content marketing strategy and execution, positioning Zip as the definitive thought leader in BNPL and payments. You will own the content strategy and editorial roadmap for our merchant audience, creating high impact content that drives demand generation and influences industry conversations.
This hands-on leadership role focuses on premium content initiatives sponsored partnerships with top publishers, commissioned analyst research, and thought leadership programming while also offering opportunities to grow the content function and lead an expanding team.
Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Leadership
- Build an editorial calendar and roadmap that cover thought leadership, analyst research, product content and campaign assets aligned with business priorities
- Develop and maintain a merchant centric content strategy that supports demand generation, buyer enablement and sales acceleration
- Lead content team operations, including production, review and publishing processes
- Foster a data driven culture by tracking content performance and pipeline influence to optimize the roadmap
Premium Content & Thought Leadership
Manage sponsored content and publisher partnerships (e.g., Forbes, Industry Dive, Business Insider) to deliver high impact thought leadership pieces and nurture merchant awarenessCommission and oversee analyst research initiatives that establish market authority and generate derivative content assetsLead multi format content development—explainer videos, webinars, interactive assessments, case studies and demos—that resonates across buying committeesTeam Leadership & Cross Functional CollaborationCollaborate with Performance Marketing, Product, Sales and Events teams to develop content that supports buyer enablement and business objectivesMentor and manage content creators (writers, designers, video producers) and external agencies / AI vendors, establishing clear quality and performance standardsWhat You Bring to the Team
8+ years in B2B content marketing with 2+ years leading content strategy and productionProven track record building content strategies that drive measurable demand generation resultsExperience commissioning major thought leadership pieces with top-tier publishers & analyst firmsStrong project management skills with ability to manage multiple complex initiativesKnowledge of marketing automation, CRM, and content management systemsStrategic thinking with ability to connect market trends to content opportunitiesComfortable in fast-paced, growth-stage environment with evolving prioritiesStrong people management skills with ability to mentor teams and coordinate cross-functional initiativesBackground in fintech, payments, or BNPL (preferred but not required)What you’ll get in return
