Our client, an Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a full-time Real Estate Finance Paralegal to join its highly regarded Real Estate Practice Group in New York. The group represents major institutional lenders, private equity sponsors, investment banks, and sophisticated developers in large-scale, highly structured debt and equity transactions.
Reporting to the Practice Group Leader and working closely with partners and associates, the successful candidate will collaborate on some of the most complex, multijurisdictional real estate financings in the market, including construction loans, mezzanine facilities, syndications, CMBS and balance-sheet mortgage loans, preferred equity investments, joint venture recapitalizations, ground lease financings, and distressed asset workouts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of transactional due diligence for real estate finance matters, with a focus on title and survey review and analysis.
- Draft, review, and assist with a variety of real estate finance documents under attorney supervision.
- Coordinate and facilitate complex closings, including preparation of closing checklists and post-closing deliverables.
- Conduct legal and factual research on New York-specific real estate finance issues.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients and third parties throughout transactions.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of dedicated real estate finance paralegal experience within a major law firm, financial institution, or in-house legal department.Experience with large and complex transactions strongly preferred.Expertise in title and survey review and analysis.Comprehensive familiarity with New York real property statutes, recording practices, and UCC Article 9.Bachelors degree or Associates degree plus Paralegal certificate required.Proficiency with industry-standard platforms, including iManage, iManage Closing Folders, Excel, SharePoint, ACRIS e-Recording system, the New York State e-File system, and online due-diligence portals.
