About the Role

The NPD Process Engineer will be responsible for new rubber injection molding product development projects which include managing projects through each stage of the concept-to-launch process, from detailed cost estimate, to successful prototyping, and finally commercialization, all while meeting customer specific requirements as well as company targets and quality standards (ISO 13485 / IATF 16949).

Responsibilities

• Guide and expedite all stages of prototype associated with new product development using project management best practices, including establishing timelines and milestones, appropriate escalation, preventing scope creep, proactive reminders, and ensure realization of deliverables
• Lead First Article Inspection (FAI), ISIR and / or PPAP, and IQ / OQ / PQ associated with new product design and APQP principles throughout the development proces
• Provide technical support to the commercial / operations / quality teams
• Thoroughly document project information, including communication with the customer about deadlines and performance requirements, concept ideas, risk analysis, coordination with external vendors, and action items
• Work closely with Sales, Chemists, and Advanced Product Development, define the customer's needs and establish the materials, processes, equipment, and design features most likely to combine into a successful solution
• Communicate and provide timely, professional responses to customers, both internal and external
• Understand and employ the principals of Lean Product Development
