Base pay range

$20.00 / hr - $23.00 / hr

Job Summary

The Workstation Technician collaborates with the Workstation Support Services team to ensure that all hardware and software orders are properly received, configured, scheduled, and installed in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Perform break / fix operations, PC and printer refresh, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Label and configure equipment according to Mayo Clinic specifications.
  • Research and verify device specifications per purchase orders and IT standards.
  • Relocate equipment as requested by departments and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Independently perform on-site installations, repairs, and customer service support.
  • Act as a technical liaison with internal teams (Help Desk, Applications, Materials Management, etc.).
  • Provide basic end-user training on hardware and software concepts.
  • Maintain and track inventory of IT parts and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with IT Security policies for all equipment processing.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and occasional overtime as required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Experience using ticketing / tracking software (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Basic understanding of IT terminology (CPU, networking, LAN / WAN, etc.).
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • Proven flexibility to manage changing workloads and priorities.

    • Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 2 years of customer service experience supporting computers, or
  • 2 years of technical school training in Computers, Technology, or Electronics.
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with Epic, ServiceNow, hand scanners, e-signature pads, tap-n-go devices, Zebra / HP printers, iPhones, and iPads.
