Field Operations Manager
We are seeking a dedicated Field Operations Manager to join our team. This role involves collaborating with project teams to provide operational and scheduling support, ensuring projects are executed smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will serve as a liaison between office and field construction, ensuring timely communication of construction requirements to project teams.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, and contractors to plan, schedule, and oversee projects.
- Manage and allocate company resources including personnel, materials, and equipment.
- Monitor crew labor costs and hours.
- Prepare a 'two-week planning schedule' and communicate with the Project Manager.
- Communicate a two-day schedule to foremen.
- Place concrete orders 2-4 days in advance and make changes by 1 : 00 PM daily.
- Collect time for hourly field employees.
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and customers through effective communication and quality of service.
- Participate in problem resolution when requested by field construction managers and foremen.
- Mentor and coach construction employees to excel in their field.
- Conduct visual safety overviews of job sites to locate hazards, traffic, and other construction activities.
- Coordinate with other trades to align and establish the location and continuation of work before manpower is assigned to the job.
Essential Skills
3-5 years of experience working in construction supervision, preferably in concrete, asphalt, or paving.Experience in construction scheduling, particularly using Excel.Experience managing construction crews and projects.Strong leadership qualities, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.Effective written and verbal communication skills.A clean driving record.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering.Concrete experience.Experience with subcontractor management, contractor oversight, and field operations.Experience with concrete construction, testing, and finishing.Experience in asphalt paving, excavating, and underground utilities.Work Environment
This is a salaried position with approximately 70% of time spent in the field and 30% in the office. The role includes the use of a company vehicle, with most job sites located within a two-hour radius of the office. Expect 11-12 hour days during the busy season, or 50-60 hour weeks. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
