Overview
The Construction Technician ensures that structural upgrades and repairs are installed properly and on time, including the responsibility for repairing and patching stucco and drywall for our valued residential customers.
Responsibilities
- Stucco and drywall repairs for residential customers
- Mix mortar and plaster to desired consistency or direct workers to perform mixing
- Create decorative textures in finish coat, using brushes or trowels, sand, pebbles, or stones
- Apply insulation to building exteriors by installing prefabricated insulation systems over existing walls or by covering the outer wall with insulation board, reinforcing mesh, and a base coat
- Mix paint, ingredients, or chemicals, according to specification
- Cure freshly plastered surfaces
- Clean and prepare surfaces for applications of plaster, cement, stucco, or similar materials, such as by drywall taping
- Rough the undercoat surface with a scratcher so the finish coat will adhere
- Apply weatherproof, decorative coverings to exterior surfaces of buildings, such as by troweling or spraying on coats of stucco
- Spray acoustic materials or texture finish over walls or ceilings
- Mold or install ornamental plaster pieces, panels, or trim
- Works with a team to install required structural upgrades for accounts
- Maintains a high quality of installation
- Loads and unloads materials
- Performs job site cleanup and maintains vehicle with equipment for each project
- Makes minor structural and cosmetic repairs as needed
- May organize equipment in warehouse
- Maintains compliance to all PPE and safety regulations per OSHA and company standards
Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience with residential stucco or drywall repair, removal, re-texturing or installationAbility to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including customersAbility to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balanceAbility to work in confined spaces which requires kneeling, crouching and climbing laddersAbility to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to : excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidityAbility to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills including but not limited to : fine manipulation, grasping, and pinchingUp to 25% travel may be requiredPhysical Demands
