Omaha Country Club is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. This role will support the Chief Financial Officer with all aspects of the Club's financial and accounting operations, including daily transaction processing, budget preparation, audit coordination, and financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will maintain unwavering accuracy and full compliance with internal controls and GAAP. Interactions with Club membership will be professional and timely, while providing the utmost in service excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform daily accounting for the Club, including managing the general ledger in accordance with accounting policies and controls.
Process vendor invoices. Organize and archive detailed records to fulfill regulatory compliance and annual audit requirements.
Manage all club transactions, daily sales, inventory, event billing, and petty cash reconciliations.
Point of contact for all billing-related Membership services, including answering Member questions, tracking delinquent accounts, and coordinating Member statements.
Oversee and troubleshoot Club POS systems, including updating menus, prices, and ensuring club management software integration, upgrades, and enhancements.
Assist with efforts to modernize Club technology, replacing paper storage with digital records, spreading the use of technology for daily operations, and automating processes.
Perform necessary office tasks, such as maintaining records of vendor invoices, document management, sorting mail, and other administrative tasks as required.
Work as a team, communicating daily, or as needed, with the CFO, and with other departments to ensure smooth Club operations.
Assist the CFO with special tasks or projects as directed, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or associate degree in accounting or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of two years of accounting experience, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and POS systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel. Adept at using complex functions such as INDEX / MATCH, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, PivotTables, etc.
Experience in club, golf, hospitality or a similar fast-paced industry. Familiarity with Jonas Club Management software and 501(c)7 organizations helpful.
Exhibits a proactive, positive, can-do attitude; is organized, consistent, and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and problem-solve while working in a fast-paced environment.
Capable of being discreet while handling conversations and issues with confidentiality. Provide excellence in customer service.
Exhibits a polished and professional appearance.
Must have reliable attendance, a valid driver's license, and dependable transportation.
Must be able to abide by the OCC Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drug Policy.
SCHEDULE
This is an on-site, full-time, non-exempt hourly position. Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
