Overview
EHS Manager – Rock Hill, Huntsman's Advanced Materials Division is seeking an EHS Manager supporting our Site in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This position will report to the EHS Regional Senior Manager. The role is responsible for how Huntsman Advanced Materials, Rock Hill Site conducts its business in accordance with all corporate and regulatory policies, procedures, and acts of law regarding the environment, health, and safety; and that the company provides an environmentally sound, safe, and healthy work environment for employees and the surrounding community.
In Summary, As The EHS Manager, You Will
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate environment, health, and safety standards such as OSHA, ACC Responsible Care, TSCA, DOT and EPA.
- Provide advice and counsel to plant management and act as an advisor to the Plant Manager in all matters pertaining to environmental, health, safety, process safety, and security of the site.
- Direct the implementation of federal, state, and local governmental policies and regulations in matters of environmental compliance, health and safety and ensure compliance in all matters under the role's direction.
- Deliver monthly and annual reports on site environmental performance (waste and emission data), personal safety and process safety performance in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Continuously improve safety and environmental performance by investigating accidents, injuries, and hazards; build rapport with local networks and agencies and support improvement teams. Develop and maintain EHS improvement plans.
- Oversee site environmental compliance activities, including air, water, and waste requirements.
- Be a visible presence in the facility assessing compliance with safety, PSM and environmental requirements, using coaching and mentoring to drive EHS improvements.
- Be accountable for site EHS training, including employee orientation, contractor training, emergency drills, industrial hygiene, safety and environmental training including SPCC, stormwater, emission events, and waste handling and disposal.
- Assist Site Manager and other department managers in setting site policies, practices, and procedures and in operating the plant.
- Serve as an active participant on the Site Leadership Team.
- Follow instructions and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and assist other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.
- Participate in and complete company-required training programs and environmental, health, & safety initiatives as set forth by the company.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field (will substitute with 5+ years of experience and an associate's degree in the same field).Experiences
5+ years' experience in the chemical industry.Experience in OSHA and Environmental Agency reporting.Experience with Process Safety Management, Process Hazard Analysis, and Management of Change.Experience with Behavioral Based Safety Systems desirable.Skills & Knowledge
Proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office programs.Experience with environmental and safety software systems such as KMS and Cority is a plus.Broad knowledge of environmental, health, safety and process safety regulations and laws.Ability to coordinate the activities of environmental, industrial hygiene, safety and health requirements in all matters pertaining to the site's compliance status.Huntsman is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and an affirmative action employer.
