Position Overview
Woolpert is hiring a LiDAR Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Kiln, Mississippi office. Candidates will have strong project management capabilities to lead and support airborne and terrestrial LiDAR initiatives. This mid-career role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in LiDAR system design and integration, who is ready to take ownership of project delivery, client engagement, and cross-functional coordination. Relocation packages are available for preferred candidates.

What You Will Do
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables across multiple LiDAR-related contracts.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including software, mechanical, and electrical engineers to ensure seamless system performance.
- Oversee QA / QC processes for LiDAR data acquisition and processing workflows.
- Contribute to proposal development, technical documentation, and system specifications.
- Stay current with emerging LiDAR technologies and recommend innovations to enhance system capabilities.
- Participate in the design, integration, and testing of advanced LiDAR systems for airborne, drone, and ground-based platforms.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Geomatics, or a related field.3–10 years of experience in LiDAR system development and / or LiDAR system component development.Demonstrated experience with system-level integration, including optics, sensors, and embedded systems.Strong understanding of LiDAR data processing, calibration, and QA / QC standards.Excellent communication and leadership skills.PMP certification or equivalent project management experience is preferred.Experience with airborne and bathymetric LiDAR systems.Familiarity with ASPRS standards and federal geospatial data requirements.Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Project, Python, or C for system control and automation.Benefits You Will Love
