Salary : $125,000 depending on experience
The CEO Lawyer Law Firm is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented In-House General Counsel to join our legal team. This hybrid role will serve as the firms in-house counsel on employment practices, contract matters, and also contribute to revenue generation through the strategic handling of external employment law cases. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice in at least one of the following states : Georgia, Tennesse, New York, South Carolina, and / or California. You will be expected to improve the internal legal and risk documents for the Law Firm as an internal legal counsel. Additionally you are required to maintain an employment law case load from pre-litigation to litigation on behalf of firm clients to expand the firms service portfolio and revenue.
Key Responsibilities :
Internal Counsel Duties :
Advise senior leadership on legal compliance and risk mitigation related to employment practices, employee relations, and HR policies.
Draft, review, and negotiate internal firm contracts including vendor agreements, partnership agreements, and NDAs.
Oversee internal investigations and provide recommendations on disciplinary actions or employment disputes.
Ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws and regulatory updates affecting law firm operations.
External Revenue-Generating Legal Services :
Manage and litigate external employment law cases including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage / hour claims.
Provide legal counsel to the business on compliance with federal and state employment laws.
Draft employment contracts, handbooks, severance agreements, and non-compete clauses for external clients.
Develop strategies to grow the firms employment law caseload and contribute to firm revenue goals.
Represent clients in mediations, administrative hearings (EEOC, DOL), and court proceedings.
Qualifications :
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active license in at least one of the following states : GA, TN, NY, SC, and / or CA.
Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a strong focus on employment law and contracts.
Proven track record of litigation success and / or client advisory in employment law matters.
Strong understanding of HR practices, regulatory compliance, and contract law.
Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to generate and manage client relationships.
Preferred Qualities :
Experience in a law firm environment or as in-house counsel.
Familiarity with law firm business operations, billing, and client engagement.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation :
$125,000 USD depending on experience.
Performance-based bonuses for external case resolution and revenue contributions.
