We are hiring a bilingual immigration paralegal to assist our legal team in preparing legal documents, filing motions, coordinating law office activity, and conducting legal research. Must be able to work cooperatively with others and have great organizational skills, and be able to communicate with clients and staff effectively. Must be able to take direction and also work independently. We are seeking a professional who is able to speak Spanish and English and who pays attention to the little details! Our office works on deportation matters, asylum cases, employment-based visas and green cards, family-based cases, SIJ, and much, much more! We are seeking a paralegal with relevant experience preparing and monitoring removal cases for bond, asylum, cancellation of removal, and similar.
Compensation :
$60,000 - $80,000 yearly
Responsibilities :
- Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer
- Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues
- Meet with clients and gather information needed to prepare and file documents for immigration filings.
- Help to prepare affidavits and petitions in support of cases.
- Create and file Motions and filings for deportation cases.
- Prepare forms in support of immigration cases using INS Zoom.
- Keep track of cases using MY CASE and Lawmatics.
- Correspond with clients about the status of their cases.
- Collect documents from clients in support of their removal cases
- Keep up to date on each case and adhere closely to deadlines and timelines.
- Prepare exhibit lists and documents in support of deportation cases.
Qualifications :
Talented communicator and writer3+ years of legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm settingMust have great time-management skills, and organizational skillsMust be able to speak Spanish and English fluently.About Company
