Advantra is partnering with an early stage ad tech startup in San Francisco to hire a Full Stack Engineer to build and scale the core platform powering AI-native advertising products.

About the role

You will build systems that connect publishers and advertisers through an AI-driven ad platform. The work spans backend matching algorithms, data pipelines, and frontend interfaces used by both sides of the marketplace. You will ship production systems that handle high throughput and shape the technical foundation of the company.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and scale full stack systems for ad delivery and analytics.

Develop APIs and backend services for real-time matching and reporting.

Create web interfaces and dashboards for publishers and advertisers.

Collaborate with data and GTM teams to define product priorities.

Optimize system performance, latency, and throughput.

Write clean, testable, and maintainable code across the stack.

Deploy and monitor production systems using modern cloud tools.

Lead technical design discussions and mentor junior engineers.

Contribute to experimentation frameworks for product testing.

Core requirements

4+ years of experience in software engineering.

Experience building production systems that have shipped to users.

Strong skills in at least one backend language such as Python, Go, or Node.js.

Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Next.js.

Knowledge of cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Proven record of scaling distributed systems or data pipelines.

Ability to work in-person and iterate quickly with product teams.

Experience leading or owning major product features.

Comfort working in early stage, fast-moving environments.

At least one example of shipped work or live product.

Nice to have

Prior startup or founder experience.

Exposure to ad tech, AI products, or data-intensive systems.

Experience with experimentation frameworks or A / B testing.

Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and observability tools.

Contributions to open source or public code repositories.

Compensation

$150,000 to $300,000 base plus equity.
