HDR is looking for a Senior Construction Consultant to join our national Trenchless Services team. This role will report to the Trenchless Services Engineering Lead, with primary responsibilities supporting the execution of design and field services associated with trenchless services : engineering, design, and construction applications.
Responsibilities
- Provide Construction Oversight for Trenchless installations.
- Conduct constructability reviews of Trenchless engineering efforts.
- Conduct daily reviews of deliverables for Trenchless construction activities.
- Conduct site visits during preliminary engineering efforts.
- Conduct Route Assessments for Trenchless aspects of Pipeline Siting & Routing efforts.
- Oversee Trenchless Construction oversight activities (coordinating staffing, developing / reviewing CM scopes).
- Support Business Development for Trenchless services through client interfaces.
- Coordinate subcontractor scheduling, quality control, and procurement activities.
- Prepare the Project Management Plan of Construction Management Plan.
- Develop procedures for constructing contract administration activities, including document, change, time, cost, quality, and safety management, and implement procedures with the project team.
- Perform construction management activities, including procurement development, schedules, subcontract scopes, subcontract terms, constructability / value engineering reviews, estimating, schedule reviews, and project performance presentations.
- Administer and manage construction activities and monitor progress relative to design requirements.
- Perform value engineering and constructability reviews; coordinate local bidding efforts for quotes obtained in the field.
- Assist in procurement of purchase orders and subcontract packages; coordinate document management and review of submittals (shop drawings) and pay applications.
- Prepare, issue, and negotiate Change Orders; review and analyze baseline and updated construction schedules.
- Control project budget and schedule; coordinate and manage quality assurance / quality control and inspection services.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with the Health and Safety Program through communication and inspections.
- Prepare and update project schedules, pay requests, and progress / reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Coordinate local bidding efforts and project setup including temporary facilities.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science or closely related field or equivalent work experience.A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction planning and management, including contracts, document / time / cost / quality management, change management, safety, scheduling, and subcontract administration.Experience with Microsoft Office and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Prolog, Primavera, Bluebeam).Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with Owner, Engineer, Contractor, and other stakeholders.Commitment to HDR"s employee-owned culture.Must have a PE or CCM or be eligible for certification (preferred).Preferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE)Certified Construction Manager (CCM)Experience with estimating / scheduling / project management software and web-based collaboration tools.About HDR
