City Experiences is seeking a Marine Engineer for our Alcatraz operation in San Francisco.

About the Opportunity :
The successful Engineer will be a hands-on team member at all levels of the Engineering department's scope. Responsible for all aspects and phases of engineering projects from start to finish, including formulating hypotheses, controlling variables, designing tests, gathering data, recommending options, and seeing projects through to completion. The engineer should demonstrate leadership within the department and maintain a calm, positive attitude when facing engineering challenges. Must be capable of fabricating new parts and solutions independently, and verify work to ensure it meets company and industry standards. This position is eligible for benefits.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Mastery of all duties and responsibilities of the Marine Mechanic position.
- Lead and perform all diesel engine repairs across the company and fleet.
- Recommend and install new systems and innovative solutions.
- Repair and replace all pilothouse electronics and diagnose vessel media systems.
- Serve as liaison between the company and outside contractors, collaborating to complete repairs.
- Rebuild and maintain pump systems, including alignment and coupling.
- Utilize industry-standard engineering tools and techniques.
- Maintain OEM-level craftsmanship in parts and system design.
- Manage projects efficiently.
- Organize workload effectively.
- Make informed decisions and report accurately on projects and issues.
- Mentor Marine Mechanics to enhance knowledge and workmanship, ensuring smooth project resolution.
- Master Hybrid Propulsion Systems.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs competently.
- Understand engineering needs across departments, including Alcatraz Island, Pier 33, Yard Periods, and Special Projects.
- Interpret laboratory test data and report findings to management.
- Ensure all logs and tasks are completed reliably and accurately.
- Continuously learn new skills and seek guidance when needed.
- Organize workload reliably and effectively.
- Maintain tools and workspace in a clean, operational state, performing maintenance as needed.
- Master pipefitting and fluid control systems.
- Ensure engineering systems follow or exceed maintenance schedules.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications :
At least 2 years of industry experience.Functional understanding of electricity and safe practices around it.HAZWOPER 40-hour certification.Forklift certification.CPR and First Aid certifications.Experience with welding, brazing, soldering, and metal work.J-18808-Ljbffr
