Job Overview :
The Staff Radiation Therapist is a registered radiation therapist - RT (T) 11-20 years’ experience / Associate’s Degree in Allied Health (Bachelor’s Degree = +2 years) . The therapist provides care to cancer patients by administering radiation treatments which includes precise set-up, operation of equipment, dose calculations, chart and film file maintenance. The therapist also performs CT simulations and had the knowledge to construct immobilization devices and custom blocks for treatment and is knowledgeable in radiation safety and performs other duties as required. In addition, the therapist has appropriate knowledge of computers to enter charges, schedule patients for treatments and transportation, and to retrieve patient medical and demographic information. The person in this position must be trained to provide assessment, treatment or care for patients of all ages with additional education focused on the treatment or care of occasional youth adults, adult or geriatric patients. Along with the duties of an RTT2, the RTT 3 also performs daily charge reconciliation and is versed in how these charges impact our patients and our department. The RTT 3 must be able to perform advanced treatments and procedures on specialty patients, for example, IMRT, SBRT, Gating, Vision RT and machine / CT sim troubleshooting, etc. They will also be the High Reliability Officers or appointed SOAR Champions. The RTT 3 will work closely with the Supervisors of Radiation Therapy to perform monthly CQI initiatives. Directly reports to the Supervisor of Radiation Therapy. Performs other duties as assigned

Varian Linear Accelerator, Aria EMR
Individual must be knowledgeable in Radiation Oncology, patient care, treatment and CT simulation
Individual must have basic computer skills
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
