RJY Group is seeking a Chiller / HVAC Technician to support our team with various projects in multiple locations. The ideal candidate will be required to perform a variety of tasks, identify areas of improvement, and increase the efficiency of commercial mechanical systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
- Development of junior technicians in chiller and HVAC maintenance and repair.
Travel :
50 - 75% Travel Required (Contiguous US)Travel expenses (airfare, lodging, meals, etc.) will be covered by RJY Group.Duties & Responsibilities :
Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance and repair of industrial mechanical systems including air-cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, valves, fan coil units, variable air volume systems, etc.Diagnose and repair machine and equipment defects, including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components. Obtain replacement parts, calibrate systems, and explain issues and solutions to customers.Oversee installation and operation of mechanical systems.Assist in developing training materials and tools for chiller / HVAC maintenance.Maintain company vehicle in good condition, report issues, and keep it stocked with necessary parts, tools, and safety equipment.Maintain documentation of all services and tasks, including make, model, serial number, test measurements, and pictures.Provide detailed and timely paperwork.Identify and report potential business opportunities, including site visits and conference calls with subcontractors.Additional tasks may include scheduling and coordinating services, providing updates, and supporting other operational needs.Willingness to complete professional and technical training.Required Skills / Abilities :
Experience or certification in York Centrifugal and Air-Cooled Chillers preferred.3 years of experience on 1,000 - 2,000 ton units preferred.Must possess personal tools or be able to purchase them upon hire.Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently.Physical ability to perform job responsibilities, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and working on ladders.Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.Education and Experience :
High school diploma or GED.10+ years of experience in chiller / HVAC maintenance or related fields.30-Hour OSHA Certification.Valid driver's license.Physical Requirements :
Prolonged exposure to outdoor weather conditions.Ability to use hand tools, lift / carry 50 lbs., and work on ladders or step stools.J-18808-Ljbffr
