Monitoring & Inspections Conduct routine and unannounced inspections of cafeterias, snack bars, coffee shops, vending areas, and other food service locations. Monitor food handling, preparation, storage, and serving practices for compliance with health and safety regulations. Verify sanitation procedures, overall facility cleanliness, and effectiveness of pest control measures. Performance Evaluation Develop and maintain comprehensive QA evaluation tools aligned with contractual obligations and food service standards. Evaluate vendor performance across key metrics, including food quality, temperature compliance, staff professionalism, wait times, and cleanliness. Generate detailed inspection reports, including documentation and photographic evidence as required. Compliance Support Assess vendor adherence to OSHA regulations, Food Code, local health codes, and campus-specific requirements. Track and validate corrective actions in response to identified deficiencies. Assist during government-led audits or third-party inspections by providing documentation and QA expertise. Customer Feedback & Satisfaction Implement tools for gathering customer feedback (e.g., surveys, comment cards, digital platforms). Analyze and report on customer satisfaction trends. Collaborate with government personnel and vendors to resolve issues and improve service delivery. Reporting & Documentation Submit routine inspection reports on a weekly, monthly, or ad hoc basis. Deliver quarterly and annual performance summaries, identifying trends and areas for improvement. Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, complaints, resolutions, and vendor performance. Training & Recommendations Offer actionable recommendations to enhance food safety practices and service quality. Support or conduct training sessions for vendor staff related to food safety and quality improvement. Qualifications / Capabilities / Software Knowledge To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. Qualifications / Education / Experience :
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in food safety, quality assurance, or related roles within food service or manufacturing. Experience with food safety auditing, compliance inspections, and quality system implementation. Familiarity with government, industry, and regulatory agency standards (FDA, USDA, OSHA, etc.). Experience with SERV Safe-Manager or like certification preferred. Technological Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and QA tracking systems. Required Knowledge and Skills : Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret technical regulations and data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of preparing clear reports and presenting findings to stakeholders. High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Ability to perform on-site inspections and walkthroughs. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and remain standing or walking for extended periods. Must be available for onsite and / or virtual meetings as required by the FDA. Must maintain a consistent presence at the client's campus during core inspection periods and food service operations. Other : Highest level of integrity managing confidential information This is a contract position supporting government operations. Background check and Public Trust Clearance is required. Current or previous HHS Public Trust is a plus. Pay Cycle Paydays are on the 15th and the last day of the month.
