Description : Position Summary :
The Development Operations & Database Manager plays a critical role in managing HAVEN’s fundraising operations, with a strong emphasis on database management, donor stewardship, and marketing initiatives. This position requires a detail-oriented professional including extensive experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT and a passion for supporting mission-driven work. The role requires database management expertise, a strategic thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a deep commitment to survivor advocacy.
Primary Responsibilities :
Raiser’s Edge NXT Database Management :
Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and gift records.
Process and acknowledge donations 3 times a week depending on volume
Generate reports and analytical data to guide donor strategies and stewardship.
Manage donor classification, appeals, campaigns, and fund designations.
Reconcile gift data monthly with Finance.
Ensure donor privacy and data security according to organizational policies.
Prepare and distribute targeted mailings and donor communications.
Track and maintain grant data and reporting deadlines.
Donor Engagement & Stewardship :
Create SOP’s around Donor Engagement and Stewardship (segmented stewardship)
Create reports through RE to support donor strategy / portfolio of fundraisers and solicit gifts to support HAVEN’s mission.
Notify senior leadership of large donations.
Execute moves management and donor cultivation tracking.
Answer donor inquiries and provide exceptional service.
Marketing & Communications :
Collaborate with Chief Philanthropy Officer to strategize, design and manage donor email campaigns, newsletters, and appeal letters. Understand HAVENs branding and assist with uphold HAVEN’s brand across platforms and materials.
General Office & Administrative Support :
Cross-training staff on core database functions.
Perform clerical and administrative duties including filing, check processing, and acknowledgement drafting.
Track community and foundation grant submissions, reporting, and distribution with stewardship.
Requirements : Core Competencies :
Experience in Raiser’s Edge NXT required.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Proven donor stewardship and fundraising skills.
Ability to work with diverse populations.
All other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field.
2–3 years nonprofit fundraising or database management experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and email marketing platforms.
Experience with donor CRM tools, especially Raiser’s Edge NXT.
Ability to lift and move 20 lbs (e.g., donation boxes, event materials).
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Background check clearance required.
Work Environment :
Hybrid work, Onsite in Pontiac Michigan
